Berea's White House Pediatric Clinic opened on June 30 and had its ribbon cutting event on July 8.
Located at 202 Kidd Drive across the street from Berea White House Clinic (104 Legacy Dr), the expansion allows both Berea White House Clinic locations to work together in a greater capacity while ensuring better healthcare access for the community.
“When you talk about accessing primary care services that access piece is the most important part, right? If you can't get an appointment when you're not feeling well or at a time that aligns with your schedule, it's not valuable,” Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Moore said. “And so, by increasing our capacity and growing the number of providers working at our clinics, we hope that we'll be able to meet those needs for folks.”
For example, there will be a pharmacy at the new pediatric clinic in the Fall so that patients can take advantage of the drive through that was added to the facility.
“Our pharmacy is very, very busy at (the original) location,” Moore said. “One of the things that we noticed were people were waiting in line longer than we would hope, but we were limited on space in that facility.”
With the addition of the drive through at the new pediatric building, adult patients with chronic conditions will not have to collect their medication inside the clinic. They can simply pick it up from the car.
The pediatric clinic also offers pediatric behavioral health services and staff to connect patients to community resources that help with needs such as food and transportation to medical appointments.
“It is hard to put into words the commitment of the people who work here. We are fortunate to have a lot of people who’ve worked here for lots of years,” Moore said. “While some people might think that says a lot about us as an employer, I think what that actually says is a whole lot about their commitment to the community where they live and to their patients that they’re taking care of.”
