Eugene “Gene” Owsley, Jr.,

Eugene “Gene” Owsley, Jr., 57, husband of Barbara Whitt Owsley, passed away Monday November 6, 2023, at his residence in Richmond¬¬. He was born May 27, 1966, in Danville, to the late Eugene “Cap” Owsley, Sr. and Doris Singleton Owsley. Gene was a retiree with Toyota Motor Manufacturing after 28 years. He was a loving, caring, husband and father. After retirement he enjoyed auctions, garage sales, and flipping houses. Gene was a man of many talents and could fix anything. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Danville.

In addition to his wife Barbara, Gene is survived by two sons, Zachary Eugene Owsley and his wife Larah Kate of Winchester, Isaiah Brooks Owsley of Richmond, nine siblings, Wayne Baker and his wife Julie of Nicholasville, Michelle Dunn and her husband Ernest of Danville, Adrienne Letcher of Danville, Brenda Owsley-Doty and her husband June of Lexington, David Owsley of Danville, Kevin Owsley of Nicholasville, Rena Owsley-Brown and her husband George Brown II of Tyrone, Georgia, Phyllis Grant and her husband Mervin of Jonesboro, Georgia, and Barbara Owsley of Champaign, Illinois.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday November 11, 2023, at First Baptist Church 425 Eastern Bypass, Richmond, with Rev. Steve Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Branden Baker, Chad Baker, Ernest Dunn II, Nick Brown, Trey Brown, and Ashley Letcher. Visitation will be 5:00PM – 8:00PM Friday November 10, 2023, and 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
