Brenda Sue Lesson

Brenda Sue Lesson, 71, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024, in Richmond.

Brenda was preceded in death by her devoted parents, William Edward and Julia Lamb Montgomery; her beloved husband, Thomas Lesson; and her cherished siblings, Terry Montgomery, Ethel Mae Montgomery, and Mary Aileen Tate. As well as her treasured cousin and caregiver, Gary Collins, who provided unmatched compassion and support in her final years.

Her spirit is carried on by her loving children, Eddie Barrett, Albert (Kim) Barrett, Thomas Lesson, and her brother Eddie Ray (Marjean) Montgomery. Brenda's legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren Eddie Ray Barrett, Jarod Barrett, Jayden (Chad) Barrett, Destinee (James) Adams, Tatum (Jeremiah) White, Dalton Lesson, Izabella Lesson, and Stormi Lesson, and by her great-grandchildren Cora Lesson, Luna, Isaiah, and Hannah Barrett.

Brenda's life was marked by her dedication to her family and her career at Eastern Kentucky University from which she retired after many years of service.

Mourning her loss yet celebrating her incredible journey are her special caregivers, Greg and Teresa Collins, who provided exceptional care and comfort.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Lakes Funeral Home. Bro. Bill Shelton officiated. Burial took place in the Davis Witt Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Greg Collins, Randy Collins, Eric Collins, Rodney Collins, Eddie Ray Barrett, Dalton Lesson, and Albert Barrett.
