  Chris Hacker, ’93 ’95, director of corporate security programs, executive protection and investigations at Delta Air Lines, built a career around protecting people. Before working in positions spanning from local law enforcement to the FBI and now global security, Hacker earned his education in his hometown at Eastern Kentucky University. 

The Berea City Council heard the first reading of an ordinance adopting the mid-year budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026, including a $700,000 allocation from Berea Tourism to upgrade Berea City Park.

According to the new ordinance, a vehicle parked on a city street that appears to be inoperable for more then 30 days, or if it has expired tags and expired registration, the Berea Police Department can issue a citation requiring the owner to remove the vehicle within a designated period. 

The Berea City Council unanimously adopted a resolution Tuesday enabling the administration to receive $2 million for developing a new section of the Berea Industrial Park.
