Elease Senters and Leanna Barnes had been thinking about starting something in the community that was simple, meaningful, and open to everyone whose life has been touched by cancer.
That’s when they decided to host the Berea Walk of Hope, which will take place on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 450 N. Broadway.
This will be a free community walk. There is no registration fee, no fundraising requirement, and no pressure to do anything other than show up and walk. You can walk for yourself, for someone you love, for someone who is fighting, for a survivor, in memory of someone you’ve lost, or simply because you believe no one should have to face cancer alone.
“We’d love for this to become something our community does every year, a day where we come together, support one another, remember those we’ve lost, celebrate those who have overcome, and give hope to those still fighting,” said Senters and Barnes.
