Lucy Anita Riddell Clowers, 87, of Richmond, passed away, on Friday, Feb. 28, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 29, 1937, in Estill County to the late Leonard and Verna Adams Riddell. Lucy was a loving wife to her late husband of 42 years, Bobby Gene Clowers. She was the owner of Clowers Grocery, a homemaker, and a member of the Substation Free Pentecostal Holiness Church. Lucy was a precious mother who loved all her family dearly, and her children and grandchildren all greatly loved and admired her.
Lucy is survived by two sons; Phillip Clowers and Randy (Juli) Clowers, both of Richmond. Five daughters; Pam (Ricky) Eason of Conway, Sandy (Danny) Thacker of Lancaster, Sheila Clowers, Debbie (Terry) Smith, and Sonya Jackson of Richmond. Two brothers; Ronnie and Michael Riddell, have Eight grandchildren; Andrea Cochran, Tiffany Diamond, Elizabeth Clowers, Caleb Clowers, James Jackson, Cassidy Clowers, McKenzie Clowers, Sydney Smith, and Aiden Clowers. And three great-grandchildren; Cameron Cochran, Ethan Diamond, and Bentley Diamond.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Wayne Clowers, four brothers; Tommy, Paul, Billy, and Earnest Riddell, five sisters; Sue Farthing, Jean Hardy, Judy Edmonson, Barbara Johnson and Wanda Riddell, as well as two grandchild Bradley Thacker and Nicholas Clowers.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 3, at the Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Dillon Ballard officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Chris Cochran, Caleb Clowers, James Jackson, Cameron Cochran, Terry Smith and Ricky Eason.
