David Hamilton, 70, A lifelong resident of Berea, passed away peacefully at his home on May 6. Born on August 9, 1954, to parents Edward Hamilton and Gertrude Marie Mullins Hamilton, David's journey came full circle as he departed in the very town he entered the world.
Throughout his life, David was a beacon of creativity, a source of interesting tales, and the go-to person for anyone in need of a helping hand. After graduating from Madison Central High School, he dedicated his entire career to CSX Railroad, where his hard work and commitment shone brightly, earning him the respect and friendship of many. He also followed his faith as a member of Silver Creek Baptist Church.
David's legacy is carried on by his loving family. He is survived by his son, Ryan (Brittany) Hamilton and his mother Vicki (Terry) Thompson; daughter, Jennifer Benge; brother, Thomas (Debra) Hamilton; sister, Susan (Ronnie) Sears; grandchildren Nicholas Combs, Rylee Hamilton, Jordan Aker, Keyana Cesar, Kylo Cornett, Zachary, and Austin Chadwell; and one great-grandson. Also, a sister-in-law, Cora Hamilton, as well as a lifelong friend, Jerry Miller. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him in return.
Preceded in death by his son, Brandon Hamilton; daughter, Ashley Combs; his parents; and siblings Kenneth, Jeffrey, and Carla Hamilton, David's spirit reunites with them in a world beyond our own.
David Hamilton's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and the simple joy of being truly handy and creative. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Funeral Service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Chuck Schroll officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nicholas Combs, Jerry Miller, Chris Sexton, and Ronald Sears.
