Lorene Hurley 95, passed away peacefully Tuesday Sept. 23, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Lorene was born in Berea to the late Roscoe and China Lakes Slone. She was a homemaker and mother,
Lorene had been a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and had been the church Clerk. In later years, she moved her membership to Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she enjoyed going to church.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond Hurley, her daughter Judy (Roger) Spires, her son Larry (Joann) Miller, grandchildren: Bill Payne and Jenny Anglin, and her sisters: Oakley Montgomery and Eula Slone. Lorene is survived by her children: Rick (Betty) Miller, Randy (Lisa) Miller, Sharon (Dana) Anglin, her siblings: Tommy (Naoma) Slone, Bobby Slone, and Cricket West. Her grandchildren: Erica (Jon) Clark, Chad (Michelle) Miller, Kevin (Becky) Miller, Ryan (Sherry) Miller, Nick Miller, Deanna (Austin) Pingleton, Tasha (Drew Massa) Spires, Jacqueline Roberts, Jessica (Whitley) Day, Trish (Ken) Aanderud, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Lakes Funeral Home, with Rev. Joey Kays officiating. Burial will be in the Chasteen-Cope Cemetery,
Pallbearers will be Kevin Miller, Ryan Miller, Nick Miller, Chad Miller, Austin Pingleton, and Drew Massa.
Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, from 6-9 pm at Lakes Funeral Home.
