Margaret Jane Cornelison Caudill Ballinger

Posted

With the deepest of sorrow, we announce the passing of Margaret Jane Cornelison Caudill Ballinger.

Jane passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, at the age of 87 in Madison County, KY. Born on August 23, 1938, in Richmond, KY to Armour and Helen Cornelison, Jane lived her life in Richmond, raising her family. She began her careers working at Westinghouse, then as a Welcome Center Representative for the State of KY, before finding much success for 40+ years as a realtor.

Jane was an exemplary mother figure and human being. She embodied the best qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Jane found her greatest joy in her family. She was a pillar of strength for all who knew her. Unbeknownst to most, Jane gave anonymously to several charities throughout her life. She felt very strongly that giving to others should be a priority, and anonymous.

Jane is survived by her loving husband, Gene Ballinger; her children: Vickie Caudill, Richmond, KY; Eric Caudill (Cyndi), Louisville, KY; Randall Caudill, Richmond, KY; Robert Caudill (Jennifer), Richmond, KY; and JaneAnn Pittman (James) Richmond, KY.

Her grandchildren: Monica Johnson (Mark), Travis Caudill (Amanda), Joshua Caudill (Britney), Nicholas Caudill (Holly), Randall Caudill, Cody Caudill, Tanner Caudill (Sierra), Bennett Pittman (Savannah), Jillian Ziada (Mahmoud), and Zoey Pittman; and her great-grandchildren, Aubrey Murphy (Travis), Jacob  and Emma Caudill, Avery Caudill, Clayton Caudill and Lukah and Eloise Pittman.

After marrying Gene Ballinger, Jane acquired more children and grandchildren to love: Gerald and Elaine Ballinger with Josh & Mindi Jones (Colten, Conner and Kyler Chaney), and Whitney and Clay Hooper (Addie and Jaxon); Karen and Rick Miller with Matthew and Mindy Miller (Jameson, Graham, Cassius Miller, Kylee and Dylan Taylor and Caleb and Jacob St. Pierre), and Mary Kate and Conner Henson (Maddie Grace); Pat and Michelle Ballinger, with Taylor and Rosie Ballinger (Caroline and Elizabeth), Riley Ballinger, Mark and Kendall Agee (Watson and Stevie) and Mary Ann and Carl Alexander.

Jane is also survived by her sister, Betty Lindblom, and brother, Marion Cornelison, and several nieces and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by her first husband, Crit C. Caudill, her oldest son, Jeffery C. Caudill, her parents, Armour and Helen Cornelison, older brother Coleman Cornelison, and sister-in-law, Virginia Cornelison.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in her memory. Mom’s love and spirit will be dearly missed and forever live on in our hearts.
