Michelle Abney Reed peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 3, 2026. She was born on Aug. 22, 1975, in Richmond, Ky., to Lee Abney and her beloved late mother, Kaye Gabbard Abney.
Michelle had a deep and unwavering love for Jesus and devoted much of her life to studying the Bible. When you thought of Michelle, you saw Jesus reflected in her life—her walk with Him was constant and never-ending. She faithfully served her church, where she especially enjoyed working with the Bible school and participating in the ladies’ group. Michelle found joy in simple pleasures, including words with friends, long drives and time spent with those she loved most. Family outings and beach vacations were among her favorite moments, and she never missed an opportunity to share laughter—often through a playful prank. Above all, Michelle cherished the time she spent with her church family, her loved ones, and her friends, leaving behind countless memories filled with love, faith and joy.
Michelle is survived by her two children, Ryan Reed and Kaylee (Avery) Davidson, both of Berea, Kentucky; her brother, Jeremy (Amy) Abney, also of Berea, Kentucky; one niece, Chloe Abney; and one nephew, Caleb Abney.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at Galilee Baptist Church on Sunday, Feb. 8, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, at noon at Galilee Baptist Church, officiated by family members. Burial will follow at Berea Cemetery.
