Mollie Marie Todd, age 100, departed this life on Feb. 9, 2026, to go home and be with the Lord. She was born on Feb. 19, 1925, in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, to the late Willie and Ida Chasteen Seals. Marie was a devoted wife to the late Roy Edmond Todd, and proudly stood as an officer’s wife to the City of Berea Police Department. She served beside Todd with unwavering support, grace, and pride throughout his years. She was also a retiree of Westinghouse.
Marie was a charter member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where she faithfully served in so many roles including secretary/treasurer, choir, VBS volunteer, hostess committee and historian. Marie carried out these roles with love for Jesus, dedication, integrity, and a true servant’s heart. Her faith guided her life, and she lived it daily through prayer, kindness, generosity, quiet strength and always seeing the best in everyone.
Marie was a talented seamstress and cooked but found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and friends. Flower gardening, pruning her rose bushes, canning vegetables and making strawberry freezer jam were favorite summer pastimes. She took great pride in the details of all things she did with her hands. Family reunions were especially dear to her as she helped maintain both the Todd/Gatliff and Seal family reunions for many years. Marie cherished every moment spent with loved ones across generations, including countless hours at her grandchildren’s events and memorializing it in scrapbooks for them. Most of all, her home had open doors and was always a place of warmth, where meals were shared, stories were told, grace was offered and everyone felt welcome.
Marie is survived by her stepson, Roy Gene Todd, and his wife, Anita; her two sisters, Mayme (Don) Brumfield; and Lorraine Lake, her sisters-in-law Gaye Seals and Louise Todd Bales and brother-in-law Hermon Todd; three grandchildren, Billy (Verna) Todd, Tracy Todd Blevins, and Eddie Todd; nine great-grandchildren, Jamie (Casey), Trevor (Hannah), Allie; and, Mollie, Finley, Tessa; and McKinzii (Phil), Ellen, and Bo; and three great-great-grandchildren, Zoey, Tripp, and Raylee, as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and friends including Lisa Houp.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Onita Rhodus, Monroe Seals, Ernest Seals, Blueford Seals, Oscar Seals and Pete Seals.
Visitation for Marie will be held on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, at Davis & Powell Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. officiated by Pastor Ed Cortez. Burial will follow at Scaffold Cane Cemetery.
