Mr. Roy Lee Rose

Mr. Roy Lee Rose, age 77, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, at his home.

Mr. Rose was the son of Cloyd Baker Rose and Nannie Himes Rose, and was born in Dayton, Ohio on March 20, 1948. For over 20 years, Roy worked for Coca-Cola in Lexington. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks and helping out at a friend’s garage. His finds at flea markets always brought him joy. 

During the Vietnam era, Mr. Rose served in the U. S. Army and received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Survivors include two daughters: Janel Renee (& Brent) Wehunt of Richmond and Crystal (& James) Adams of Berea, his son: Roy Adam Rose of Richmond, one sister: Pearl Ballard, one brother: Tom (& Jane) Rose, three grandchildren: Justin (Allyson) Calhoun, McKenzie Calhoun and Londyn Ivy Wehunt, his dear friend and mother of their children: Linda Rose, one sister-in-law: Carolyn Bowman and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Rose is also preceded in death by five brothers: Albert Rose, James Robert Rose, Darrell Bowman, David Bowman, and Grant Bowman, and two sisters: Ruthie Cole and Margie Ann Rose.

Visitation will be held from 9– 11 a.m. on Monday, March 3, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Committal Service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery with full military honors.
